Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
- How do I make a booking or enquiry?
- You can fill up our contact form, click on the WhatsApp chat widget on the top right corner of the page, or reach out to us directly at (+62 81188077926) via WhatsApp or call. Our admin team will get in touch to arrange a consultation for you at the earliest available slot.
- Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a us?
- We warmly welcome walk-ins! However, it’s advisable to see a doctor before starting our programmes, as a medical referral or diagnosis helps our staff better understand your child’s needs and support them in reaching their fullest potential.
- Can I book an assessment and session on the same day?
- Yes, absolutely!
- If there are available slots, we’ll be more than happy to arrange for your child’s exercise session to take place right after the assessment.
About Our Programmes
- What are intensive programmes, and how are they different from regular sessions?
- 1. Intensive programmes are exercise blocks designed for children who benefit from more frequent sessions within a short period of time, usually daily sessions over two – four weeks.
- They allow our trained staff to build momentum, reinforce new skills, and achieve faster progress through consistent, focused work.
- 2. In contrast, regular sessions are typically held once or twice a week, offering steady, long-term support and allowing families to fit the programmes comfortably into their weekly routine. Both programmes are equally valuable, our team will recommend the best options based on your child’s goals, needs and availability. For Intensive Programmes, we will need at least a week’s notice.
- How long is each session?
- Each exercise session lasts approximately 50 minutes.
- We’ve set aside the final 10 minutes for our staff to thoroughly sanitise and prepare the space, so that every child enjoys a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for their session.
- How often should my child attend?
- The frequency of sessions depends on your child’s needs, goals, and response to treatment. Some children benefit from intensive blocks of daily sessions for faster progress, while others do best with regular weekly sessions to build consistency over time. Our staff will discuss and recommend a schedule that best supports your child’s development and your family’s routine.
- How do you decide which programme approach to use?
- Each child is unique, with different needs. During the initial assessment, our staff will carefully evaluate your child’s motor skills, sensory responses, and overall development. Based on these findings, we design a personalised exercise plan
- What conditions or diagnoses do you see at Mighty Moves?
- We work with children of all abilities! From those who need a little extra support to those with specific developmental, neurological, or genetic conditions.
- Common conditions we see include:
- Cerebral palsy
- Global developmental delay
- Down syndrome
- Hypotonia or hypertonia
- Gross motor delay
- Spinal cord injuries
- Genetic syndromes affecting movement
- Premature birth complications
- We also welcome children without a formal diagnosis but who may be experiencing delays in crawling, walking, balance, or coordination.
Assessment Process
- What should I prepare or bring for the first visit?
- Please bring along any medical or therapy reports, referral letters, or previous assessments if you have them — these help our staff better understand your child’s background.
- Comfortable clothing for movement, a water bottle, snacks, and your child’s favourite toy are always welcome. We want your child to feel as comfortable and confident as possible during their first session.
- Can I sit in during the session?
- Yes, parents and caregivers are welcome to sit in, especially during the first few sessions.
- As your child becomes more comfortable, our staff may encourage you to observe from a short distance so your child can build independence, but you’ll always be kept informed and involved.
- How do you track and share my child’s progress?
- We carefully document each session, noting your child’s achievements, challenges, and next steps.
- You’ll receive regular updates and progress reviews, and our therapists are always happy to discuss your child’s development after each block or milestone. You may also request for a progress report at any point. Please note that written progress reports are available upon request and subject to a small administrative fee.
- How do you set goals?
- Goals are personalised for every child. During the initial assessment, we identify your child’s strengths, challenges, and areas for growth, then work with you to set specific, achievable, and meaningful goals.
- These goals are reviewed regularly to ensure the programme stays relevant and responsive to your child’s progress.
- What if my child cries or refuses to participate?
- That’s completely normal and it’s actually very common, especially when children are adjusting to a new environment.
- Our staff are trained to handle these situations gently and patiently, taking time to build trust through play and comfort. We’ll never push your child; instead, we adapt the session to their pace until they feel ready to participate.
Parents & Caregivers
- How can I support my child’s progress at home?
- Your involvement makes a big difference! Consistency is key — practising simple movements, encouraging independence, and celebrating small achievements all help reinforce what your child learns in the sessions.
- Our therapists will guide you on how to carry over programme goals at home in fun, practical ways suited to your daily routine.
- Do you give home exercises or follow-up materials?
- Yes, we do. Depending on your child’s goals, our staff may provide home exercise suggestions, activity sheets, or demonstration videos to help you continue progress between sessions.
- Can other caregivers (e.g. grandparents or helpers) attend sessions?
- Yes of course!
